Google Places Finally Allows You To Delete Your Listings

As you may all know not long ago Google Places changed it’s dashboard, however, it was still missing one major feature, the ability to delete and remove map listings. As of this week however, you now have the ability to delete and remove your listings, this has been something that many people have wanted for a long time now.

Jade Wang, A Google Employee, announced this via Google Plus, stating the following:

“remove a listing now available for new Places dashboard users.”

She also added the following:

“Users of the new Places dashboard can now remove listings from their accounts (http://goo.gl/SwxLvO). Please note, you cannot undo removing a listing from your account.

If your business is closing, make sure you first report it as closed using Report a Problem (http://goo.gl/lGwPSS). If you’d also like to remove the business from displaying in your dashboard, first access the dashboard for the business you wish to remove. Select the Gear icon, then select Remove this listing.

Note that Google may continue to show businesses that have been removed from your account on Google Maps, Search, and other Google properties as closed, moved, or open, depending on the information we’ve received about the business.”

It is important to note that this feature is available on both the new and old dashboard, the images below show how to remove/delete your listing on both of the dashboards. The first image that you can see is the newer dashboard and the second is of the older dashboard.

As you can see from the above image, all you need to do is open up the listing, select the right hand tab and click “remove this listing”

The older dashboard is equally as easy, all you need to do is open up the listing and click “delete”.
